We spoke to Katie Murray from @igersgoldcoast, who turned her personal hobby of taking photos her hometown on the Gold Coast and asked about the origins of this Instagram group.

How did you come to start @igersgoldcoast?

The Gold Coast is a small community in QLD Australia and I was always running into other photographers out and about. We chatted about creating a social group where we had a set time and place to meet and we had heard about the Igers. We did some research and approached the man who created Igers all over the world. We had to apply to become a part of the group and be approved but it was worth it as the Igers name is known all over the world.

What do you enjoy about the group?

I love meeting people of all ages and photography attracts such a wide variety of people, young and old. Also people with varying degrees of experience who are willing to help you along the way. It’s a wonderful way to spend time doing something you love.

Who are your favourite Instagram photographers?

I have many, but a few that I adore are

@lozm4

@jewelszee

@timjordanphotography

@laurenepbath

Tell us why you love Pocket Prints and printing.

Pockets prints are so cool because they are so inexpensive [to use for printing] your Instagram photos AND posts – I really love the fact that Pocket Prints use real photo paper with a matte surface. Instagram prints look amazing hanging on your wall, clipped on a pin board, [or] tucked around your mirror. Gorgeous little reminders of beautiful places, people and things.
